Dishwasher capacity is measured in place settings. As a rough guide, a place setting consists of a large dinner plate, dessert plate, glass, bowl, teacup, saucer, two knives, forks and spoons. This means the dish washer can hold 14 of each of the above items. Roughly 140 items total (not including pots or pans).
